As you probably know, the holiday season typically spans from Halloween to New Years. Typically, this season is a time of fun and family. Similarly, during this season, you’ll probably find yourself surrounded by more sweets than you normally might. As you can probably guess, this means you might be more vulnerable to cavities.
Naturally, one thing you might want to consider doing is simply practicing moderation. Odds are, you’ll be eating things that aren’t on your typical diet—and there isn’t anything wrong with that. However, you should try to avoid eating too much sugar. You should also try to also eat healthy foods, since doing so will help balance the good and bad bacteria in your mouth.
However, while eating healthily and avoiding too much sugar is important, you should still make a point of brushing and flossing your teeth. However, if you eat, and especially if you eat an acidic food, you should remember to wait for half an hour or longer to brush. If you don’t, you could actually damage your teeth. Similarly, you should drink plenty of water. You see, drinking water will carry bad bacteria and food particles from your mouth, helping you avoid cavities.
